What Makes You Beautiful

You don't know you're beautiful, If only you saw what I can see, You'll understand why I want you so desperately, Right now I'm looking at you and I can't believe, You don't know, Oh oh, You don't know you're beautiful, Oh oh, That's what makes you beautiful

"OUR BAND, OUR BONDING"

Last night, we finally sang and played our way to victory with the concluded "Fire Exit's Anniversary Celebration". A friend of mine who is also a blogger made a post about our band and thought what he said to us is touching, LOL.. told him that i'll repost his post here at my blog.. Click here for the original post.

“Our Band, Our Bonding”

August 14, 2009

I hate music, but my friends love it, and I love my friends.

It has already been midterm week, but it doesn’t hinder us any. Matatalino kaya kami! In fact, apparently in the past few days, my friends and I have found time to do some corporate gimmick even! I think 5 perfect victories in a row? We also had a fun movie marathon–eww! But most of all, we have just assembled the oddest , musical band one can’t ever imagine! [talagang kasali ako?]

And here come the band members, all oozing with such magnificent talents:

ROY[ako 'yan]:

**I’ve got the most dramatic role in the band. Why, I’m the “chimist”, silly! ( come on, the one who manipulates the chimes, idiot!) Super galing ko talaga, and I couldn’t agree more! Too bad I had a shock in the nerves just before the actual performance. It was so sad not to be able to show them what a real, talented “chimist” is made of! Anyway, in the end I have been one of the two, paid–that is, paid clappers at least. So true, the charge against me is magnificence, and I plead guilty to that offense! :)

APOLO[the lead _______]:

**Ewan ko ba kung anu tawag dun sa maingay na instrument n’ya, but he’s definitely good at it. No, serious! He’d been so devoted during the rehearsals, I must say. Talagang dedicated s’ya sa ginagawa n’ya. Another thumbs up to you, best bud! Cool..

DION[the pianist and band leader by chance]:

**I’ve been so busy to be the band leader, you know. And I thank Dion for taking charge. Kidding aside, he’s an excellent pianist, as he must be a maverick in such a field. S’ya ang nag-train sa mga co-members n’ya sa band, of course with the help of that guy wearing eye-glasses: Mr. Tatararat, I guess? During the main event, Dion was also one of the masters of ceremony. Thanks pal, we couldn’t have done it without you! :)

KATRINA[the __________]:

Just keep it up Kat, malay mo magkapag-asa ka pa sa akin! :)

MITCH[the newborn drummer]:

**’Wag ka! Hindi lang exams ang kaya n’yang i-perfect, pati beats sa drums yakang-yaka din! Who would have thought that this 4-foot girl has a talent so mindbendingly large that the world seems to tremble underfoot? (OA naman yata un description ko!) But what’s been more awe-striking was the fact that she mastered her instrument in no more than two weeks! I have this sneaking suspicion na na-inspire lang talaga s’ya dahil pinapaypayan ko s’ya during the practice! Hahahaha! :)

MANGY DOG[Maricel, the________]

**For the record, ‘di ko rin mawari kung ano ‘yung gamit n’ya. Gitara ba ‘yun or electric guitar? Either way, astigin pa rin s’ya! I’ve also seen her willingness to learn her instrument better.

JAMPOL[the vocalist]:

**Well, mabait naman ‘tong si jampol at mapagbigay. Besides, mabait naman talaga s’ya, not to mention mapagbigay. Hahahaha! Emote kung emote has been his principle that night. I can tell it when he performs. Ganda nga pala ng damit natin ah?! hahaha :)

So that made up our very own band—oozing with so much talents! A band we call as “ROY AND THE BAND” band…hahahahahahahahahah!

Nevertheless, I would as well regard some other components that brought us to this 3-inch pedestal:

KELVIN PUNJA[the washer]:

**Hindi talaga s’ya nakapunta dahil sa di umano’y puspusan n’yang pagkukuskos ng marurumi n’yang damit! If I know, di mo naman talaga damit ‘yang mga ‘yan—upahan ka! Pero thank you na rin for having been there in the rehearsals, though.

STAR[the other clapper]:

**Ewan ko ba kung pasasalamatan kita or what?! Tsk.. :)

Yet, every single ounce of our success will not be brought possible without God, Himself.

He alone is worthy!

All credits to the Author of Life!

Thank you Lord for making our then separate ways be one.

Thank you Lord for bestowing us these talents, as we all offer it to Your Majesty.

And more importantly…

Thank you Lord for giving me these people I call my BEST FRIENDS…

See you guys sa next FIRE EXIT event natin….

My own view. Well. Mixed emotions. The practices, the problems we had, and the performance felt like high school, emotionally. I never thought i'd find a group in college that would come close to a group in high school. It was so much fun that we won't realize that it was already late and we didn't care if we'd get scolded at home. Never felt anything like that for a long time.

Roy's right, our band is our bonding. It made us more intact and solid as a group. Up to this point, I feel butterflies on my stomach. I'm still thrilled with what God made us do, and excited not only to our next performances, but to our practices and "corporate gimmicks" as well. Need not to say anything more.

God bless and to God be the Glory!

KOREAN PERCUSSIONISTS

Yesterday, my friends and I decided to stay at school for a while after class. We say at the BulSU's renowned "Heroes Park". It is a good thing the we stayed for a bit, cause I got the chance to see a musical performance by the Koreans studying at the school. The instruments used are percussion instruments. It was fun watching them, and now I can say that I know a bit about their traditional music and instruments. And as a musician, it feels nostalgic that fate gave me a chance to hear music from another country. We don't usually stay too long at school after class.

From what i have researched, it is called Nong-ak.

I took some pictures. I wish a have a better camera. DX

And here is a vid of what they are playing.

WALLET MISSING

yey! we got a new dog!

his name is toby.. he is kim's half-brother LOL..

kim is always jealous of him.. really funny watching them play together and piss each other off LOL..

last week's a bit toxic, i did exams on electronics, eng'g materials, and differential equations.. i think the exam on electronics was as hard as DE.. i wasn't able to review for the earlier it felt i'd fail.. DX..

just a while ago, my classmates and i are at another classmate's house.. we got four hours vacant time so we stayed there for a while.. it's where i did our homework, a half-wave rectifier,. it's just a prototype i guess, since our professor instructed us to use terminal strips instead of printed circuit boards..

and also, i was envious of classmate's upright piano.. it is a black kawai.. DX.. played there a bit, i grabbed the opportunity to play on a piano that isn't out tune like mine.. XD..

gotta go now.. ciao!..

WEEKLY RECAP

TGIF! why? cause i don't have classes on Fridays.. XD.. but i do have classes on Saturdays.. DX.. for two weeks now, our broadband net is not working, so i do blogging at our office LOL.. and i don't get much initiative to do a post when i'm here.. DX

anyway, it has been an amazing but stressful week.. my brain's overdoing it again.. DX.. one of our professors is really confusing me, and what he teaches violates my principles.. i might as well share it then? this is circuit analysis btw..

Problem:
The power absorbed by the element is P = 24e^-8t and the voltage across the element is V = 8e^-4t. Calculate:
a. Current(I) at t = 2.5s
b. Charge (q) at 0.5s <= t <= 2s

Given are:
Power(P) = 24e^-8t
Voltage(V) = 8e^-4t

seems easy.. here is how my professor solved it..

a.)
I = P/V d/dt(I) = d/dt(P/V)
I = d/dt(24e^-8t/8e^-4t)
I = d/dt(3e^-4t) I = -12e^-4t
I = -12e^-4(2.5) I = 5.448 x 10^-4 A

b.)
note: ~ is an integrand
q = It
q = ~It
q = ~(Pt/V) q = ~[(24e^-8t * t)/8e^-4t] |0.5 to 2
q = whatever the answer, i don't remember..

got no problem with the b.), but a.) did confused me.. after differentiation, the unit would be A/s ayt? and the unit of current is only A.. so i thought that if it should be differentiated, then it should be done parametrically.. in that case it would be:

I = d/dt(P) / d/dt (V)

dP/dt = d/dt(24e^-8t)
dP/dt = -192e^-8t

dV/dt = d/dt(8e^-4t)
dV/dt = -32e^-4t

I = dP/dt * dt/dV
I = -192e^-8t/-32e^-4t
I = -192e^-8(2.5)/-32e^-4(2.5)
I = 2.724 x 10^-4A

this time, i solved it through parametric differentiation, so that the dt would be cancelled, thus, no extra unit.. only A, and not A/s.. one of my classmate gave me the idea, and we didn't get the chance to ask our professor about it.. don't know which one to do when the exam comes.. DX.. if any of us is wrong, or if neither of us is correct, i'd appreciate it if you'd tell me..

btw, i got you a cool site you can have fun with.. it is..

AKINATOR!

ALMA MATER A PRAYER FROM THE TEACHERS..

**note.. this post has nothing to do with my first day of school..
it's about my High School.. can't get anymore emo with it.. LOL.
.

for 7 years now, i've been studying at the same school.. and through that 7 years, i saw how my school changed..

as a high school student of Bulacan State University, i was a proud one.. thousands of incoming 1st year students took the exam, but only 120 slots are filled in.. the Laboratory High School of BSU is no doubt, one of the best and well-known high schools in Bulacan.. XD

life wasn't easy there though, especially when you came from a private school.. everything is different in there.. the classrooms are full of dust, seats are all rusty, and it is poorly ventilated.. i thought i was gonna cry the first day of school LOL.. and the lessons make it worse.. since we are at a college university, our lessons, especially the science subjects, are at a different level.. i can say that science is really the forte of BSU Lab. High(it should be, else it should't be Lab. High LOL).. i used to be brilliant when i was in elementary, but i was nothing but ordinary when i got there.. my classmates are really unreachable for me.. i was not challenged though,. i was discouraged.. LOL LOL..

well high school is really a moment in my life that i don't want to forget.. we're only three sections, so you get to meet everyone else.. there i met my true friends, my first love, and many more XD.. i miss high school.. DX

right now, at the very same school, i am a third year Electronics and Communications Engineering student,.

*i do not own the pictures, from BulSU Website..

in three years, i will finally graduate.. still a lot of time eh? LOL.. it would be fun.. it should be.. =']

ciao!
